Golf – 1987 – US Open – Olympic Club – 3rd Round – With Jim McKay + Al Trautwig

DOG ASIDE:

The third round of the 1987 US Open Golf Championship….which was being played at Olympic Golf Club in San Francisco, CA….was played on June 20th….as the day began with a leaderboard that looked like this:  Tom Watson and Mark Wiebe were leaders in the clubhouse at 137 at the end of the 2nd round by one stroke over John Cook, Bernhard Langer, Tsuneyuki Nakajima, Jack Nicklaus and Jim Thorpe at 138….and just two strokes behind came Ben Crenshaw, Bob Eastwood, Larry Mize and Scott Simpson at 139.

The 3rd round provided some wonderful golf….as Olympic Club proved to be very challenging….with only three players being in red (under par) at the end of the day….when there had been 11 players under par at the in of Round 2.

By the end of this the 3rd round….the leader board had added Keith Clearwater, Lennie Clements, Seve Ballesteros and John Mahaffey into the fray….which simply means there’s some mighty good golf being shot in this video….and that typically equates to “great shots” here at ImaSportsphile….so, ENJOY!!!
