This 1988 CBS At The Half Show at the Orange Bowl game between the Miami Hurricanes verses the Oklahoma Sooners is hosted by Jim Nantz…..along with Pat O’Brien and Brent Musburger…..as the Canes enter the locker room at halftime leading the Sooners by a score of 7 – 3.
The first part of this halftime show begins with a piece by Jim Nantz on the neck injury to Citadel linebacker Marc Buoniconti, the son of NFL Miami Dolphins great linebacker, Nick Buoniconti, who became paralyzed from the neck down, as a result of the injury…..for this is a story of courage and encouragement…..with hopes for a major breakthrough in curing paralysis kept close to the “hearts of dreams” for the future.
Pat O’Brien then provides highlights and analysis of the first half of play…..which is followed by Brent Musburger interview with Head Of Marketing for Chevrolet regarding the Chevy MVP of each game….plus, Dolphin QB Dan Marino…..as they all talk about the importance of Chevrolet’s MVP scholarships that have been awarded over the years.
