1981 NCAA Swimming & Diving National Championship Highlights from Austin, TX

DOG ASIDE:

The 1981 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships were held at The University of Texas Swim Center…..and the Longhorns under Coach Eddie Reese won the National Championship in their home pool….beating out UCLA, who came in 2nd.  Texas was led by 50m Champ Kris Kirchner and 100m Champ Scott Spann….both who teamed with Eric Finical and Andy Schmidt to win the 400 medley relay….and the 400 freestyle relay with Clary Britt and William Paulus.  Coach Eddie Reese has led the Longhorn Men’s Swim Team to 11 NCAA National Championships in his 36 years at the helm in Austin.
