DOG ASIDE:
The 1986 Women’s World Gymnastics Championship….held in Rennes, France…..with the medal count being won for the 7th straight year by the Soviet Union….who dominated women’s gymnastics from 1974 to 1994….when the team from China finally beat the Soviets. The 1986 World Championships proved to be a transition time for the Russian women’s team….as young faces everywhere were beginning to replace the Olga Korbut’s and Nadia Comaneci’s of the world.
