The Dance Theatre of Harlem (DTH) is an American professional ballet company and school based in Harlem, New York City…..which was founded in 1969 under the co-directorship of Arthur Mitchell  and Karel Shook….while Milton Rosenstock served as the company’s music director. The Dance Theatre of Harlem is renowned for being both “the first Black classical ballet company” in the world….and “the first major ballet company to prioritize Black dancers”.

As seen in this video herewith….the Dance Theatre of Harlem perform to “Stars and Stripes Forever”….as it is perform by the 800 strong All American Olympic Band at the Closing Ceremonies of 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympics. Not only is the Stars and Stripes Ballet a beautiful thing to watch….but the incredible band sound provided by the All American Olympic Band literally filled the Los Angeles Coliseum with rousing patriotic music.

  • The Murmanschanns, what a duo, I remember them from this show, the Muppets, Sesame Street and other shows. They are the most unique mime artists to grace this Earth. I thought they were amazing and these two routines prove it.
