Alpine Skiing – 1978 – World Championship Men Downhill – SWI Peter Mueller – With Jim McKay + Bob Beattie

Peter Mueller is a former World Cup alpine ski racer from Switzerland…..who won a world champion in 1987 in the downhill…..plus, Mueller was a silver medalist in the downhill in two world championships 1985 and 1989….along with  two Olympic games 1984 Sarajevo Games and the 1988 Calgary Games…..as Mueller also won the World Cup season title in the downhill in 1979, 1980, and 1982 in a tie with Steve Podborski of Canada…..while finishing Mueller finished 2nd in the World Cup downhill standings in 1985, 1986 and 1987…..when his best finish in the overall standings was fourth….which he achieved three times.

Mueller retired from international competition following the 1992 season with 24 World Cup victories….after having 19 in downhill….2 in Super-G….and 3 in combined.
