J. Foyt with four Indy 500 championships to his credit….an Al Unser with three….while Mario Andretti was looking for his 2nd…. and Rick Mears his 4th…..which was followed by a wonderful interview with all time leading pole sitter Rick Mears…..who was sitting on the pole for his 5th time. It was going to be such a great day!!!
