Auto Racing – 1987 – Indy 500 – Special Feature – Demonstration Of What Takes Place In A Pit Stop

The pits usually comprise a pit lane which runs parallel to the start/finish straight….which is connected at each end to the main track….along with a row of garages….usually one per team…..which is outside the track and adjacent to pit row….which is where all major work is done. Pit stop work is carried out by anywhere from two to twenty mechanics….also called a “pit crew”….and depending on the series regulations….while the driver typically waits in the vehicle.

In this video herewith….ABC Sports has set up a “Demonstration of What Takes Place in a Typical Pit Stop”…..which is very interesting and entertaining.
