Bone Daddy came to NYC with the devout intention of being the loudest and most fervent Astros fan….not just at the game, but rather….every where he went he was wearing something Astros….and he would give a loud hoot and point to his Astros logo on his shirt or cap…so, on this day of Game 4 at Shea Stadium….BD felt extra confident cuz he had Stros pitching ace Mike Scott on the mound on this afternoon….and although he was pitching on 3 days rest….Bone Daddy felt extra powerful in him being an Astros fan at Shea Stadium today. Since Bone Daddy is a person who is always prepared…he had special t-shirts made just for the games he was attending at Shea Stadium….and since Mike Scott was pitching, he wore his Great Scott t-shirt….and every time Scott would dominate a hitter…..he’d stand and shout…GREAT SCOTT….GREAT SCOTT.
Game 4 provided Bone Daddy some serious solace…..after having to each so much humble pie after Dykstra’s home run in the bottom of the 9th of Game 3….especially after all that BD had dished out to the Mets fans around him for the 81/2 innings his boys from Texas were leading…..so, getting a little restitution was necessary on this day….as Great Scott was once again dominant in Game 4….as the right-hander went the distance on a three-hitter to earn his second victory of the series in Houston’s 3–1 triumph. Mets’ starter Sid Fernandez allowed just three runs in six innings, but surrendered a two-run home run to Alan Ashby and a solo shot to Dickie Thon to account for all the offense the Astros needed. Gary Carter came to bat as the tying run in the bottom of the ninth, but flew out to center as the Astros tied the series 2-2. Needless to say, having a New York deli pastrami sandwich on the house….was all that needed to be said….but that wasn’t enough for Bone Daddy….cuz he just hooted and hollered the whole time he ate that awesome sandwich.
