Bone Daddy has had the good fortune to see some of the best players in that particular sports history….Al Oerter, Carl Lewis, Edwin Moses et al in track & field…Mark Spitz, Tracy Caukins, Jil Sterkl in swimming…..Michael Jordan, Akeem Olajuwon and Pistol Pete Maravich et al in basketball….Doak Walker, Earl Campbell, Barry Sanders et al in football….John McEnroe, Rod Laver, Martina Navratilova et al in tennis….the list goes on and on…..but in the sport of hockey, Bone Daddy does have a lot of hockey memorabilia….cuz the only hockey he could see was Houston Aeros of the WHA (World Hockey Assn.) from 1972 to 1978….and in 1974 & 1975, Bone Daddy not only saw Gordie Howe and his two sons, Marty and Mark, play on several occasions…..while acquiring an team autograph hockey stick with the Howe Boys all having signed. I do remember BD telling me more than a couple of times….that Gordie Howe was an outstanding athlete even in his late 40’s….but more importantly on the ice even at that age….he was not a man you wanted to get caught on the boards with.
