Boxing – 1980 – Lt Welterweight Bout – Aaron Pryor Vs Julio Valdez – Round 4 – With Dick Stockton


This 10 round light welterweight bout between Aaron The Hawk Pryor verses Julion Valdez took place at Casino Miami…which was formerly known as Miami Jai-Alai Fronton….is a 6,500 seat indoor arena and casino in Miami, Florida on March 16, 1980. 

 Aaron Pryor was a rising star in boxing….who in his last fight of 1979 was pitted for the first time ever against a former or future world champion when he faced former WBA light welterweight champion former WBA light welterweight champion Alfonso “Peppermint” Frazer of Panama….and when Pryor knocked out Frazer in the 5th round….he advanced his fight record to 20-0 with 18 knockouts….to which after defeating Fraser….Pryor entered the World Boxing Association rankings…..so, when he took on Julio Valdez in 1980….he came into the ring at 21 – 0 with 19 KO’s.   As seen in this video herewith….The Hawk destroyed Valdez in the 4th round to win his 22 fight in a row….with 20 coming by knockout.
