DOG ASIDE

Ernie Singletary was a typical Philadelphia fighter…..tough, well trained, always prepared, could take a punch as evidenced by his ability to go the distance with Thomas Hitman Hearns….who fought some mighty fine middleweights in his 26 win 6 loss career such as Murray Sutherland, Jame Hardrock Green, world champ Alan Minter and Frank Animal Fletcher…..as he is interviewed and profiled in this video herewith by legendary boxing sportscaster Don Dunphy prior to his fight with Thomas Hitman Hearns right after Hearns 1st defeat to Sugar Ray Leonard of his outstanding career .

Thomas “Tommy” Hearns (born October 18, 1958) is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1977 to 2006…..and was nicknamed the “Motor City Cobra”, and more famously “The Hitman”,  Hearns’ tall and slender build allowed him to move up over fifty pounds in his career and become the first boxer in history to win world titles in four weight divisions….including the welterweight, light middleweight, middleweight and light heavyweight championships. By later winning a super middleweight title, he also became the first to win world titles in five weight divisions.
