Marv Albert is an American sportscaster….who is honored for his work as a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame….as he is commonly referred to as “the voice of basketball”…..when from 1967 to 2004, he was also known as “the voice of the New York Knicks“. Albert currently (2019) works for Turner Sports, serving as lead announcer for NBA games on TNT.
In addition to calling both professional and college basketball…..Albert has tons of experience announcing other sports such as American football, ice hockey, horse racing, tennis and boxing…..as seen in this video herewith….who with broadcasting partner Dr. Ferdie Pacheco….have called many many world championship fights. Marv Albert has called the play-by-play of eight Super Bowls, NBA Finals, and seven Stanley Cup Finals. He has also called the Wimbledon Tennis Championships for TNT with Jim Courier and Mary Carillo. He also worked as a co-host and reporter for two World Series in 1986 and 1988. Dwight Muhammad Qawi (born Dwight Braxton) is an American former professional boxer….who competed from 1978 to 1998…..and was a world champion in two weight classes….while having held the WBC and Ring magazine light heavyweight titles from 1981 to 1983…..and the WBA cruiserweight title from 1985 to 1986. Qawi was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2004.
