Boxing – 1983 – 10 Rnd Lightweight Bout – Hector Macho Camacho VS Cubanito Perez

DOG ASIDE:

When Hector “Macho” Camacho fought Irleis “El Cubanito” Perez on April 3, 1983 in Phoenix, AZ….both fighters game into this lightweight match undefeated….as Macho was 20 – 0….and El Cubanito was 25 – 0….which had all the earmarks of a really good fight that could go the distance….which it did….as Camacho won a unanimous decision.

El Cubanito was a dang good club fighter out of Las Vegas, NV…..who ended his career with 36 wins (26 KO) and 4 losses (1 by KO)….and Hector “Macho” Camacho would go on to a storied legendary career in winning 9 different world titles in 6 different weight classes….ending his career at 79 wins and 6 losses…..cuz oh my god dog….what an incredible boxer with fast hands and quick feat….who was an even better showman….as the Macho Man could sell tickets and advertising time on the television.

Any time a boxing fan gets to watch Hector Camacho….it is a true treat….and in this fight early in his career….he got a pretty darn good match from a really good boxer in El Cubanito…..which makes this video well worth the watch.
