Rick “Rocky” Lockridge (born January 30, 1959) is an American former professional boxer….who is known for handing Roger Mayweather his first defeat….which was a first-round knockout in just 98 seconds….thus earning him the WBA and lineal super featherweight titles in 1984….then in 1987, he won the IBF super featherweight title….with a defeat of Barry Michael.
Rocky Lockridge was a really good, almost great boxer during The Golden Age of Boxing….in a career that spanned from 1979 to 1992….while compiling a career record of 44 win 9 losses with 39 KO’s…..who fought one of the all time great fighters, Julio Cesar Chavez, to a majority decision…..something that very few boxers ever did.
