Comedy – 1978 – Skit – On Choosing Physical Characteristics For Your New Baby – With Eric Idle

DOG ASIDE:

Eric Idle was an integral member of England’s Monty Python….which was a a British surreal comedy group….who created their sketch comedy show Monty Python’s Flying Circus….when it first aired on the BBC in 1969….wherein 45 episodes were made over four series….which developed into The Python phenomenon from the television series into something larger in scope and impact….including touring stage shows, films, numerous albums, several books, and musicals…..as their influence on comedy has been compared to the Beatles’ influence on music. Their sketch show has been referred to as “not only one of the more enduring icons of 1970’s British popular culture, but also an important moment in the evolution of television comedy.

In this comedic skit….Idle plays a doctor who canvasses parents to be about the physical characteristics that they would like to have in their 2nd baby to be….which is a really funny sketch….especially when you think about having a “made to order” baby….and the responses of the future parents, Dan Akroyd and Gilda Radner, in this video herewith….are priceless.
