Cycling – 1987 – Tour De France – Finish To Stage 12 Coming Into Bourdeaux – With John Dockery

Stage 12 of the 1987 Tour de France covered a 228 km / 142 mile plain stage course from Brive to Bordeaux….as USA Davis Phinney won the stage…..on a day ended in a “bunch sprint” that did not change the general classification.  

Davis Phinney is a former professional road bicycle racer from the United States…..who chalked up a record for an American of 328 race victories in the 1980’s and 1990’s….which included two Tour de France stages.

He has worked in media since retiring as a racer…..when he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease when aged 40.
