Figure Skating – 1986 – World Championship Ice Dance Competition – CAN Tracy Wilson + Robert McCall

In the summer of 1981, Tracy Wilson teamed up with Rob McCall in a ice dancing partnership that started at the Elgin Barrow Arena in Richmond Hill, Ontario…..as they trained in Richmond Hill throughout their competitive careers. Together they won the Canadian national championship seven times from 1982 to 1988…..in addition to winning the Skate Canada International competition in 1983 and 1987…..as the 1983 gold was the first time a Canadian team won the event.  The pair were three-time World Championship bronze medalists in 1986, 1987 and 1988. They competed at the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics while placing 8th….and then winning the bronze medal at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics….which was also Canada’s first Olympic medal in ice dancing.

As seen in this video herewith, CAN Tracy Wilson + Robert McCall perform their long program at the 1986 World Figure Skating Championships…..where they won their 1st of 3 consecutive bronze medals….as CBS John Tesh and Scott Hamilton are behind the mike for this performance.
