Figure Skating – 1987 – European Mens Championships – USSR Alexander Fadeev – With Scott Hamilton

At the 1987 European Men’s Figure Skating Championship….USSR Alexander Fadeev received several perfect 6.0’s and regained his European title…..as seen in this video herewith.  Fadeev also repeated as the bronze medalist at the World Championships….after finishing 3rd again behind CAN Brian Orser and USA Brian Boitano in Cincinnati.

In the 1987–88 season, USSR Alexander Fadeev won his 4th national title…..along with his 3rd European title.  At the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, he skated the best compulsory figures….but his placements in the short at 9th…..and his free program at 4th…..literally dropped him out of the medals to fourth overall…..and as a result, he withdrew from the World Championships.
