Bob Tway (born May 4, 1959) is an American professional golfer….who has won numerous tournaments including eight PGA Tour victories….while spending 25 weeks in the top 10 of the Official World Golf Ranking in 1986–87.  He was introduced to golf by his father and grandfather at the age of five….as he played in his first tournament at age seven.  Tway was a three-time first-team All-American golfer at Oklahoma State University….having won the Haskins Award in his senior year. He turned pro in 1981 and joined the PGA Tour in 1985.

In 1986, he was named PGA Player of the Year….after finishing the season with four victories including the PGA Championship….which was held at the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio….when Tway finished with a score of 276…..and a two-stroke margin of victory over Greg Norman….after Tway had holed a greenside bunker shot at the 18th hole on the final day…..which is a most memorable shot in golf history.
