Golf – 1987 – Skins Game – NBC’s Bob Goalby Interviews Arnold Palmer After Winning $25K Skin On 8th Hole

Golf legend Arnold Palmer won a $25,000 skin on the 8th hole of competition of the front nine of the 1987 Skins Game competition….which meant that The King was not going to be “skunked” on the opening day of the event.  So, going into the final hole of the front nine competition at the 1987 Skins Game….Fuzzy Zoeller had won $60,000 in skins….while Lee Trevino had won $55,000…..and Palmer has $25,000 in skins…..which meant that the only player that was left out in the cold on the first day was none other than Jack Nicklaus.

In this video seen herewith…..NBC Skins Game roving reporter, Bob Goalby, catches up to Arnold Palmer to visit with him about the up-slope lie that he had prior to making his skin winning birdie…..as Goalby comments that they didn’t shut out The King on day one….to which Arnie replies….”They almost did.”
