It doesn’t matter when or where….if you could watch any foursome play professional golf in any format….it is this lil ole chiweenie Sportsphile’s opinion that you would be hard-pressed to field any four better players to play heads-up in a Skins format like this 1985 Skins Game featuring Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson and Fuzzy Zoeller.
What makes this round of golf so incredible is the underlying intense competition that comes with each shot made by these golfing greats…..cuz although they seem to be having a really fun time playing with each other….the viewer can just feel the sharp cutting edge of the athlete and competitor that lies within each man.
Any way you cut the pie…..this is must see TV….especially if you were a part of Arnie’s Army….or you loved the Golden Bear….. or you enjoyed the fun loving shot making genius of the Fuzz Man….or if you simply like the quite mechanical dominance of Mr. Watson….this 1985 Skins Game has it all….just for your viewing pleasure….not to mention to watch a piece of golfing history brought to you by sportscasting legend Vin Scully.
