In this video seen herewith….ABC’s Al Trautwig interviews Chairman of the Board John MaBee at Golden Eagle Insurance prior to the 1987 Belmont Stakes….a race in which Alysheba, who had previously won the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes….which were the first two legs of the 1987 Triple Crown of horse racing….as MaBee’s company would have to write a $5.000,000 dollar check to this great horse if he won the Belmont on the day of this interview. After Trautwig asks MaBee what he thought about the possibility of writing such a large check…..to which the Chairman of the Board explained his excitement about doing so….cuz he was a thoroughbred horse owner who had several horses that were out of Alysheba’s and Alydar’s blood line.
