Horse Racking – 1988 – The Preakness Stakes – Winner Chris McCarron On Alysheba

DOG COMMENTARY:

The 1987 Preakness Stakes was the 112th running of the thoroughbred triple crown horse race….which took place on May 16, 1987….and was televised in the United States on the ABC television network….as Alysheba was jockeyed by Chris McCarron won the race by a half length over runner-up Bet Twice. The post time was 5:34 p.m. Eastern Time….as the race was run over a fast track in a final time of 1:55-4/5.  

The Maryland Jockey Club reported total attendance of 87,945 paid in attendence….  which was the 2nd highest on the list of American thoroughbred racing top attended events for North America in 1987….as Alysheba took 1st….Bet Twice took 2nd…. and Cryptoclearance to 3rd….with Gulch coming in 4th….as these four horses were all very good….with Alysheba winning two legs of the Triple Crown in 1987….when he won two legs of the vaunted Triple Crown,,,,the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness….who became a successful sire after his racing days were over….when he produced 11 stakes winners.
