Jim McKay’s 1972 Munich Games Coverage Of Assassination Of 11 Israeli Athletes By Palestine Terrorists

When I was a kid my father used to say “Our greatest hopes and our worst fears are seldom realized.” Our worst fears have been realized tonight. They have now said there were 11 hostages; two were killed in their rooms this morn– yesterday morning, nine were killed at the airport tonight. They’re all gone.

DOG ASIDE:

Throughout the years of Sportscaster Jim McKay storied career…he covered the entire wide world of sports….bringing incredible athletic achievements and the agony of defeat from many sports and sports venues….but nothing compared with the story he covers in this video….as 11 Israeli athletes and coaches and a German police officer were killed by 5 Palestine terrorists.  The motto of the 1972 Munich Olympic Games was anything but “The Happy Games”.
