The 1986 Major League Baseball All-Star Game was the 57th playing of the midsummer classic between the all-stars of the American League (AL) and National League (NL)….which are the two leagues comprising Major League Baseball. The game was held on July 15, 1986, at the Astrodome in Houston, Texas….the home of the Houston Astros of the National League. The game resulted in the American League defeating the National League 3-2….which ended a streak where the NL had won 13 of the last 14 games. Boston Red Sox pitcher Roger Clemens was named the Most Valuable Player. 

In this video, ESPN’s Chris Berman hosts an All Star Saturday Night pregame show the night before the game at the Houston Astrodome the following day….in which he not only introduces the American League starting team….but also shows highlights of each starter leading up to the game….including Red Sox P Roger Clemens….Tigers C Lance Parrish….Angels 1B Wally Joyner…..Tigers 2B Lou Whitaker…..Red Sox 3B Wade Boggs….Orioles SS Cal Ripken Jr…..Twins CF Kirby Pucket…..Yankees RF Dave Winfield….and Yankees LF Rickey Henderson……which means this video showcases  five future Hall of Fame Members in Boggs, Ripken, Puckett, Winfield and Henderson….which is quite a lineup indeed.
