This NBC Sports pregame show featuring the New York Mets verses the Boston Red Sox in Game 3 of the 1986 MLB World Series encompasses the best two minutes of photos covering Major League Baseball’s history of the World Series from 1903 to 1985 is the best “photo op” ever put together regarding the American tradition of The Fall Classic…..which makes this video clip a piece of “pure gold” in our ImaSportsphile treasure chest of vintage memories….and although there is not a word spoken in this piece titled The World Series 1903 to 1985….it is still a phenomenal portrayal of the “game and it glory” that has ever been put together.
Also, in this video is probably the last live interview with Dick Howser, the manager of the 1985 World Champion Kansas City Royals prior to his death from a brain tumor in June of 1987….as he was truly an outstanding baseball mind who passed way before his time….so, we at ImaSportsphile are overjoyed to have this video in our library. In addition to all of that, this NBC pregame show features three legendary sportscasters “behind the mike” in Bob Costas, Vin Scully and Joe Garagiola….and to top it all off….the incredible Natalie Cole sings the National Anthem…..which should make this “must see TV” to any and all baseball fans.
