José DeLeón is a Dominican former professional baseball right-handed pitcher….who played in Major League Baseball with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago White Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies and Montreal Expos….over all or part of thirteen seasons from 1983 to 1995….during which time he was the National League strikeout leader in 1989….while with the Cardinals.

DeLeón and Kerry Wood are the only pitchers in MLB history to record fewer than 100 wins….yet still strike out 1,500 or more batters.
