Moonlight Becomes You is a popular song….which was composed by Jimmy Van Heusen with lyrics by Johnny Burke…..as the song was written for the Paramount Pictures release Road to Morocco in 1942…..and published in connection with the film…..after a staff arranger named Vic Schoen wrote the arrangement for Paramount.  The song has been recorded many times….while becoming a standard….but the recording by Bing Crosby on June 12, 1942 is the best known…..as it topped the Billboard charts in 1942….while spending a total of 17 weeks in the lists.

Road to Morocco is a 1942 American comedy film starring Bing Crosby, Bob Hope and Dorothy Lamour…. and featuring Anthony Quinn and Dona Drake. The film, which was written by Frank Butler and Don Hartman and directed by David Butler for Paramount Pictures….which is the 3rd of the 7 “Road to …” films done by the three…as it was preceded by Road to Zanzibar (1941) and followed by Road to Utopia (1946). The story is about two fast-talking guys castaway on a desert shore…..who are sold into slavery to a beautiful princess…..with the setting being in Morocco.
