“Moonlight Becomes You“ is a popular song….which was composed by Jimmy Van Heusen with lyrics by Johnny Burke….while the song was written for the Paramount Pictures release Road to Morocco in 1942….and published in connection with the film.
The song has been recorded many times….thus becoming a standard….but the recording by Bing Crosby on June 12, 1942 is the best known…..as it topped the Billboard charts in 1942….while spending a total of 17 weeks in the lists. This video herewith is the original version from the movie….which has a wonderful comedic version of the song…..which makes this just another “nugget of gold” in our treasure chest of vintage memories.
