Music – 1976 – Joe Cocker + John Belushi – Feelin’ Alright – Sung Live On Stage In New York City

Feelin’ Alright is a song written by Dave Mason of the English rock band Traffic for their eponymous 1968 album Traffic….which was also released as a single….while reaching # 123 on the US charts….but failed to chart in the UK….after which Joe Cocker performed a more popular rendition of the song….as both Traffic’s and Cocker’s versions appear in the 2012 movie Flight. The song had also been featured in the 2000 film Duets, sung by Huey Lewis.

Joe Cocker recorded it in his debut album With a Little Help from My Friends in 1969….as the song opens the album…..when in its first release in 1969, it reached # 69 on the US Billboard Hot 100…..then in a 1972 re-release, it reached even higher to # 33 on the same chart…..while Cocker included this song live in his double album Mad Dogs & Englishmen.

Cocker performed a ‘duet’ of this song with John Belushi on episode 3 of Saturday Night Live‘s second season….which aired on October 2, 1976….and is seen in this video herewith…..as Cocker also performed the song with Huey Lewis on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which aired on 19 July 2012.
