In our title for this post…..we call Delbert “Austin’s Own”….cuz even though he was born and raised in West Texas (Lubbock)….he is kindred spirit to our Bone Daddy….who was raised in Midland…..as neighbor of Lubbock….as both are West Texas Boys who migrated to Austin….a city where Bone Daddy own a sports bar for 20 years…..and Delbert played hundreds of live gigs all around Austin, Texas….for the locals there consider Delbert to be one of their own.
We do not know Jim McKay…..but it would have been awesome if we did….cuz we consider him to be the most eloquent and elegant of all sports reporters….as he could make an event he covered sound romantic and magical. He was very special….as we have listened to literally hundreds of his telecasts….and we consider him among the best of the best.
Do you know jim mckay
