This 1978 SNL skit featuring legendary r&b and soul singer Ray Charles at a 1957 music recording studio in Memphis….as his manager, Garrett Morris , introduces Ray to an all white singing group call The Young Caucasians….who are going to record Ray’s song “Tell Me What I Say”.
This wonderful musical skit was a spoof on the times back in the 1950’s when white musical groups and performers would sing black music like r&b and soul…..for this was a time in the history of music in America where black music never made the “pop charts of America” unless they were sung by groups like The Young Caucasians….and this video clip is down right hilarious.
