“I Got the Hoss“ is a song written by Gerald House….which was recorded by American country music artist Mel Tillis…..and was released in August 1977….as the first single from the album Love’s Troubled Waters….while the song reached # 3 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.

As seen in this video herewith….Mel Tillis sings “I Got the Hoss” with his band live on stage at Austin City Limits in 1979….as one of the many things that we truly enjoy about Mel Tillis….along with his songwriting and singing talent….is the fact that he has three fiddle players in his band….which made the Austin, Texas crowd “tickled pink”…..cuz everyone knows that if you are going to play music in Texas, you gotta have fiddle players in the band….and Mel has three…..plus, this love song is also hilarious….I mean, I’ve got the hoss and you’ve got the saddle.

  • The Murmanschanns, what a duo, I remember them from this show, the Muppets, Sesame Street and other shows. They are the most unique mime artists to grace this Earth. I thought they were amazing and these two routines prove it.
