Music – 1981 – Ray Benson + Asleep At The Wheel – I Found A New Baby – Performed Live On Stage At Austin City Limits

I Found a New Baby is a popular song written by Jack Palmer and Spencer Williams….which was introduced by Clarence Williams’ Blue Five in 1926….with popular recorded versions in the same year by Ted Lewis and by Ethel Waters….and has since been recorded by many artists…. which has made it a popular jazz standard…as Bing Crosby recorded the song in 1945….and Bobby Darin included the song in his album Winners in 1960….while “I’ve Found a New Baby” is included in the repertoire of almost every traditional jazz band…as Charlie Christian’s guitar solo with the Benny Goodman Orchestra in 1940 is considered one of the most influential solos recorded by the guitarist.

In this video seen herewith….I Found a New Baby” is performed live on stage at Austin City Limits in 1981 by Ray Benson + Asleep At The Wheel…..a legendary band around Austin, Texas for nearly a half-century….and we at ImaSportsphile are “tickled pink” to have it as part of our music library.
