DOG ASIDE:

This video brings to life an old and hallowed tradition of the singing of Back Home In Indiana just prior to the start of the 1986 Indianapolis 500 Race….and is being sung by Opera singer John Davies….who has performed with opera companies throughout the United States….to include singing at  the Metropolitan Opera….the San Francisco Opera….and the opera companies of Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, St. Louis, Salt Lake City, Kansas City, Omaha, Cincinnati, Phoenix, Nashville, and Anchorage. He has also performed in concert as bass-baritone soloist with the symphony orchestras of Boston, San Francisco, St. Louis, Detroit, San Antonio, Indianapolis, Chattanooga and Syracuse.  A father of six children, and grandfather of many more, John takes an active interest in the performing arts for young people…..as his operas for young audiences have been presented by more than 150 opera companies and university opera programs in the United States and Canada.  Davies says that one of his mot enjoyable singing experience was when he sang Back Home In Indiana at the 1986 Indy 500…..as seen in this video herewith.

  • The Murmanschanns, what a duo, I remember them from this show, the Muppets, Sesame Street and other shows. They are the most unique mime artists to grace this Earth. I thought they were amazing and these two routines prove it.
