Music – Steven Frumholtz – 1986 TV Ad For The State of Texas – “Explore Texas” – Ad Campaign For Visiting Texas As A Tourist

Austin, Tx has had the reputation of being a “Laid Back” kinda place since back when Bone Daddy, the original Sportsphile went to school at The University of Texas….and became a “burnt Orange” in his blood kinda person….for as BD puts it….the University of Texas campus already had lots “hippies” around town and around campus….when he got there in 1965…..and “hippies” loved folk music….and Steven Frumholz wrote and sang folk songs.

Singer/Songwriter Steven Frumholz played lots of venue like Soap Creek Saloon, Liberty Lunch, Rome Inn, Threadgills and many more around Austin….and the “hippies” loved his music….and so did Bone Daddy.  However, Frumholz wasn’t a “hippy”….but he was a wonderful folk singer…..who eventually ascended to the lofty position of “Poet Laureate of Texas”…..and that status in and around Austin is what opened the doors to him being conscripted to write a 30 second song called “Explore Texas”….which was over-layed with video sights of The Lone Star State….and used as a television ad to promote tourism in the State…..and seen in this video herewith.
