Music – 1987 – Kenny Loggnins – Danger Zone – Put To Highlights Of The 1987 Indy 500 Race

DOG ASIDE:

“Danger Zone is a song with music composed by Giorgio Moroder….and lyrics written by Tom Whitlock….which American singer-songwriter Kenny Loggins recorded and released in 1986. The song was one of the hit singles from the soundtrack to the 1986 American motion picture Top Gun….which became the best selling soundtrack of 1986….and one of the best selling of all time.  According to Allmusic.com, the album “remains a quintessential artifact of the mid-1980’s” ….and the album’s hits “still define the bombastic, melodramatic sound that dominated the pop charts of the era.”

Kenneth Clark Loggins (born January 7, 1948) is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist….whose early songwriting compositions were recorded with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 1970….which led to seven albums while performing as the group Loggins and Messina from 1972 to 1977….to which the Mother Lode album is one of this lil ole chiweenie Sportsphile’s favorite all time album.  As a solo artist, Loggins experienced a string of soundtrack successes….including an Academy Award nomination for the movie “Footloose” in 1984.  His early soundtrack contributions date back to the film A Star Is Born in 1976…and thereafter for much of the 1980’s and 1990’s….when he was known as “The Soundtrack King”. Loggins released Finally Homewas sed in 2013…which was shortly after Loggins formed the group Blue Sky Riders with Gary Burr and Georgia Middleman.
