In 1932, the novelty song Let’s All Sing Like The Birdies Sing was written by a team of songwriters lead by English composer Tolchard Evans….as the song was recorded that year for the first time by English band leader Henry Hall. In 1933 the song was featured in the short film Betty Boop’s Halloween Party….as the song is performed by Bonnie Poe as Betty Boop….while featuring background vocals by Mae Questel ….who was one of Betty’s alternate voice artists. In 1934, the song was used again by Max Fleischer as the basis and title of an animated short in the Screen Songs series….then in 1963, the song became part of an installment in The Enchanted Tiki Room at Disneyworld…..and later at Disneyland….when at the popular attraction the song is introduced as the bird national anthem.
In 1989, Walt Disney Animation produced one of their most popular Sing Along Songs music films hosted by Professor Owl and Ludwig von Drake…..which featured the song Let’s All Sing Like The Birdies Sing…. as seen in this video herewith…..and just like our entire collection of Walt Disney Animated Sing Along Songs video library….we are simply “{tickled pink” to have it in our treasure chest of vintage memories.
