This video featuring the 35th NBA All Star Game special with Pat O’Brien hosting the NBA At The Half ….where he starts off featuring the All Star Saturday Night festivities including the NBA Legends Game…..which was a game between old time NBA players….who although well beyond their playing days…..still put on a great show with ex-Celtics Tom Heinsohn and ex-Knick Earl The Pearl Monroe leading the way for a East victory over the West legends of the game….as this event was as much “fun and games” for the old timers….as it was competitive play. Following the Legends Game, came the Slam Dunk Contest featuring Dominique Wilkins, Michael Jordan, Larry Nance and Terrance Stanberry….as Wilkins out-dueled Jordan in the finals for the title.
Following highlights of the previous night’s All Star Game activities with the Legends Game, Slam Dunk Contest and 3-Point Shootout…..Pat O’Brien takes the viewers inside the locker rooms….as East Coach K C Jones draws out plays on the chalkboard for the East All Stars…..and as West Coach Pat Riley does the same for the West All Stars.
The final segment of this NBA At The Half program is a wonderful feature about Atlanta Hawks’ G Mike Glenn…..and how he gives back to the Atlanta School of the Deaf basketball team by providing basketball camps for players from the deaf schools around Atlanta, Georgia.
