NBA – 1986 West Conference Finals – Game 5 – The Forum – Los Angeles Lakers VS Houston Rockets

DOG ASIDE:

The Los Angeles Lakers had won the 1985 NBA Championship over the Boston Celtic in dominating fashion by winning 4 games to 2…..and came into the Western Conference Finals against the Houston Rockets as a heavy favorite to “five-peat” as Conference Champions….after having won the West in 1981 – 1985….as these were the dominant years of the Laker nucleus of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, James Worthy, Byron Scott, Michael Cooper, Kurt Rambus and Mitch Kupchak….with Coach Pat Riley at the helm….but, the Houston Rockets were destined to “rain on the Lakers parade”…..as fellow Twin Tower to Akeem Olajuwon, Ralph Sampson, would put a dagger right into the heart of Laker Nation….with a last second shot for the ages.

Game 5 would prove to be one of the all-time great moments in Houston Rockets basketball history….providing a game that from start to the very last shot of the game…..that was exciting and exhilarating throughout….which makes this video must see TV.
