NBA – 1987 – Finals Game 2 Celtics Vs Lakers PreGame Show – With Musburger + Stockton + Heinsohn

This NBA on CBS broadcast pregame show of the 1987 NBA Finals Game 2 between the Boston Celtics verses the Los Angeles Lakers….featured the outstanding broadcast crew of Brent Musburger, and Pat O’Brien at the studio desk….along with Dick Stockton and Tom Heinsohn behind the mikes for the live game play by play broadcast.

The Celtics plan for Game 2 was to concentrate on stopping Magic Johnson…..as Danny Ainge, at 6’5″ could not deal with the 6’9″ Magic….plus Michael Cooper was emerging as a great 3 point shooter…..to which he canned six 3 pointers in the upcoming Game 2…..which was a playoff record….and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar added 23 points on 10 of 14 shots….while Magic posted 20 assists and 22 points. It all added up to a 141-122 rout….for Boston’s sixth straight road loss in the playoffs.

This NBA on CBS pregame show features a piece on the Lakers owner Jack Kent Cooke from 1965 to 1979….as the man responsible for building the Los Angeles Forum arena…..while also owning the NFL’s Washington Redskins franchise.
