DOG ASIDE:
KVUE Channel 24 Austin has always been a huge supporter of University of Texas sports….especially football….as they always produced special programs that served as evidence of their support….and this review and highlights of the 1984 Longhorn season serves as a perfect example of their support.
The 1984 Texas Longhorns were ranked # 1 in the country entering the annual Red River Rivalry game with Oklahoma in game 4 of the season…..whom they played to a 15 – 15 tie….and remained in the top 3 teams in the country through 7 games….but a loss to the Houston Cougars in game 8….when they lost their 1st game of the season….and would proceed to lose 3 of the next 4 games….which was a direct result of losing their starting QB Todd Dodge in the Houston game…..thus finishing the season at 7 – 4 – 1.
