NCAA Football – 1988 – Orange Bowl – Oklahoma Sooners Vs Miami Hurricanes – PreGame + 1st Qtr

DOG COMMENTARY:

The 1988 Orange Bowl was an American college football bowl game between the Miami Hurricanes and the Oklahoma Sooners in the 54th edition of the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida on January 1, 1988….as Miami was coached by Jimmy Johnson….and Oklahoma was coached by Barry Switzer…in the only time the opposing head coaches from a college national championship football game each later served as head coach of the same professional football team….and won the Super Bowl with the Dallas Cowboys

These two teams entered this game being ranked # 1 (OU) and #2 (Miami)….showcasing such players as LB The Box Brian Bozworth, QB Jamelle Holieway, LB Dante Jones, TE Keith Jackson. WR Carl Cabiness, RB Lydell Carr. DB Rickey Dixon and OL Mark Hutson…..while the Canes featured QB Vinnie Testevarde, RB Melvin Bratton, WR Michael Irvin, LB George Mira, Jr., DL Daniel Stubbs, WR Brian Blades and LB Randy Shannon…..so, there was plenty of talent on the field for this historic game.

CBS Sports brings this 1988 Orange Bowl Classic telecast….with Brent Musburger and Coach Ara Parseghian are on the mikes for the call of the game….with Jim Nance in the studio for updates and scors around the country. The PreGame Show includes intervies, player profiles, starting lineups, season highlights and game analysis…..which are really enjoyable to watch.
