The 1982 Texas Longhorns football team represented the University of Texas at Austin in the 1982 NCAA Division I-A football season…. when the Longhorns finished the regular season with a 9–2 record….after losing only to # 4 ranked SMU by a score of 30 – 17… and a late game score loss to arch rival Oklahoma Sooners by a score of 20 – 17…..as the Horns were ranked all season anywhere between 8th and 18th in the country….when they capped off their season with a Sun Bowl loss to North Carolina by a score of 26 – 10.
