Steve Ross was a popular sportscaster with Austin KVUE Ch 24 during this preseason interview and program covering the upcoming 1985 Texas Longhorns schedule with UT Coach Fred Akers…..as seen in this video herewith…..as he and Coach Akers discuss all things Longhorns as the 1985 season is about to kick off….including assessment of the team and their players regarding “strong suits and weak points” of the team going into the new season….then the two go through the upcoming schedule where Coach Akers assesses each team his Longhorns will face.

The 1985 Texas Longhorns football team represented the University of Texas at Austin in the 1985 NCAA Division I-A football season. The Longhorns finished the regular season with an 8 – 3 record….while going 6 – 2 in Southwest Conference play….which tied them with Arkansas and Baylor with a 2nd place record in conference play…..and then the Horns lost to Air Force in the Bluebonnet Bowl by a score of 24 – 16.
