Every now a then, a video rolls up to the top spot for videos ready to be posted…. which bring this lil ole chiweenie Sportsphile a great deal of unexpected joy….and this 1989 CBS Sports special college basketball production is one of those rare jewels that just popped up out like the magic in a jack-in-the-box when opened….as CBS sportscaster Jim Nance takes the viewer on a “magical mystery tour” of the past 50 years of final four highlights….covering dang near every piece of historic highlights including the John Wooten era where his UCLA Bruins dominated….Kansas’ Danny and the Miracles….Jim Valvano’s “air-ball that won the championship” for his NC State Wolfpack….along with Coach Rollie Massimino’s Villavona Wildcats Center Ed Pinckney putting his team on his back to take down mighty Georgetown….coupled with many more magic moments in the 50 year history of March Madness.
This video is a wonderfull “nugget of gold” in our treasure chest of vintage memories here at ImaSportsphile….and we are most happy to share it with any and all college basketball and March Madness fans. ENJOY!!
