NCAAM Basketball – 1986 – Midwest Region Finals – NC State Wolfpack Vs Kansas Jayhawks

DOG COMMENTARY:

Here at ImaSportsphile, there is really no event that is bigger each year to a Sportsphile than March Madness….Bracketology…we mean NOTHING BIGGER….for the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament provides as good of an example of what sports….and therefore….Sportphiles are all about.

March Madness brings an energy to the world that only sports can bring…..an energy chocked full of hard-nosed, honest preparation and perspiration….with a layer of sacrifice and support that is mixed with a passion for competition and combat…. where the key to the energy lies in the honest belief that any team can win….so, let’s tee it up….and see who wins.

In this 1986 March Madness tournament….every regional final featured a #1 or #2 seed playing a team seeded #6 or lower….evidenced by this # 1 Kansas vs. # 6 NC State seen herewith. It can be argued that these upsets by the 6th to 14th seeds launched the NCAA Tournament’s reputation for having unknown teams surprise well-known basketball powers….with none more impactful than when Navy reached the Elite 8 thanks to stunning performances by David Robinson.

This March Madness Midwest Regional Finals features a young  Danny Manning….who would lead Kansas to a National Title in his senior year….which makes this video even more worthy of watching for any basketball fan or Sportsphile.
