NCAAW Basketball – 1985 – Special – Best Player In Womens College Basketball – USC Cheryl Miller

DOG COMMENTARY:

In addition to being one of the all-time best women’s collegiate basketball players….Cheryl MillerĀ is currently the women’s basketball coach atĀ Cal State LA….and a former sportscaster for TNT….as she performs duties as a sideline reporter forĀ NBAĀ games onĀ TNT Sports….plus sheĀ also works forĀ NBA TVĀ as a reporter and analyst having worked previously as a sportscaster forĀ ABC Sports,Ā TBS Sports andĀ ESPN. She was also head coach and General Manager of theĀ WNBA’sĀ Phoenix Mercury.Ā Ā

In 1995, Miller was enshrined in theĀ Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of FameĀ inĀ Springfield, Massachusetts….and in 1999, she was inducted into the inaugural class of theĀ Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, located inĀ Knoxville, Tennessee.Ā Ā On August 20, 2010, Miller was also inducted into theĀ FIBA Hall of FameĀ for her success in international play.Ā Ā She is the sister of retiredĀ NBA Hall of FamerĀ Reggie MillerĀ and formerĀ MLBĀ catcherĀ Darrell Miller.Ā

Back in the day of this video, there were not many collegiate men’s players that would even dare taking her on in a one-on-one or a game of h*o*r*s*e….cuz this girl had game….plus she was big enough to handle the men just fine…..so, this video is a great piece of NCAA Women’s Basketball history….and a prizedĀ “nugget of gold” in our treasure chest of vintage memories.
