KTBC, virtual and VHF digital channel 7, is a Fox owned-and-operated television station licensed to Austin, Texas, United States. The station is owned by the Fox Television Stations….subsidiary of 21st Century Fox…as KTBC’s studios are located on East 10th Street near the Texas State Capitol in downtown Austin….where they have been since the 1960’s….and its transmitter is based at the West Austin Antenna Farm on Mount Larson.

Memorial Day or Decoration Day is a federal holiday in the United States for remembering the people who died while serving in the country’s armed forces.  The holiday….which is currently observed every year on the last Monday of May….marks the unofficial start of the summer vacation season….while Labor Day marks its end.  Many people visit cemeteries and memorials….particularly to honor those who have died in military service….while many volunteers place an American flag on each grave in national cemeteries.  Two other days celebrate those who serve or have served in the U.S. military….Veterans Day, which celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans….and Armed Forces Day, a minor U.S. remembrance celebrated earlier in May….specifically honoring those currently serving in the U.S. military.
